Welding and rust repairs in Newton Abbot
Rust cut out and new metal welded in by Mark, then protected and painted.
Bodywork start dates depend on what's in the booth. Send Mark a few photos for a quote and he'll give you a realistic date.
Rust spreads. Once it has bubbled through the paint, the metal underneath is usually worse than it looks. The fix is to cut out the rotten metal, weld in new steel, then seal, prime and paint it so it lasts.
Where rust usually shows up
- Sills and jacking points
- Wheel arches and rear quarters
- Door bottoms and boot lids
- Floor pans and around suspension mounts
How Mark does it
He'll look at the car, show you how far the rust goes, and give you a price for cutting it out and letting in new metal. Once it's welded, the repair is sealed and painted in our spray booth to match the rest of the car.
If rust has been flagged on an MOT, Mark can do the welding and Russ can sort any mechanical work, all under one roof.
Price
Welding is priced on how much metal needs replacing, which is hard to know until we've looked. It's priced on the work involved plus materials, with no VAT. The estimator has a rust/welding option for a rough guide. Send Mark photos for a proper quote.
Questions we get asked
Can you just fill the rust?
Filler over rust doesn't last, because the rust keeps spreading underneath. Where the metal has gone, it needs cutting out and replacing.
